At CrossFit Islander we will discuss what kinds of things you should and should not be eating and the reasons why. Making a sudden transition to a healthy diet can be just as daunting as starting a new fitness program, so here at CrossFit Islander we'll take you through the steps to sound nutrition slowly, one step at a time, so that you can successfully start eating in a way what will help you reach your fitness goals more quickly and successfully.
Here at CrossFit Islander we advocate a Paleo style of eating. The Paleo diet is the world's healthiest diet and it is based upon eating wholesome, contemporary foods from the food groups that our hunter-gatherer ancestors would have thrived on during the Paleolithic era, or Stone Age.
This diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit, fungi, roots and seeds, and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, refined salt and sugar, and processed oils.
Here at CrossFit Islander, we like to run "Paleo Challenges" which are 4 to 6 week challenges whereby you gain/lose points based on how clean your diet is. The results seen from those who have participated in past Paleo challenges have been phenomenal! Lost inches, less inflammation and feeling more energized are just a few of the amazing benefits of eating a clean diet.
