Getting Started

At CrossFit Islander, we teach, develop and instill a deep appreciation for fitness and nutrition for everyday healthy living. It doesn’t matter who you are or what level of physical conditioning you possess – everyone is welcome.

Complimentary INTRO class

A great way to get your CrossFit experience up and rolling is to begin with our complimentary INTRO session. The purpose of the INTRO session is to tell you all about our unique program and what it can offer you. Here at CrossFit Islander we are looking for dedicated members to join our CrossFit community who are willing to commit to the CrossFit protocol of hard work and team spirit in the pursuit of a high level of functional fitness. This INTRO session will help us serve you better by getting to know your goals, expectations, fitness level and past experiences. If CrossFit is not for you, this should become abundantly clear at the end of the INTRO session.

During this complimentary INTRO session with a certified CrossFit coach, you will get an opportunity to learn about our unique program and you’ll get a chance to experience a CrossFit workout for yourself, so be prepared for some physical activity and dress accordingly! Make sure you’ve eaten a meal before coming and be sure to be hydrated by drinking plenty of water. CrossFit workouts are demanding and not to be taken lightly! But you needn’t worry – every single workout is scalable to your ability, so everyone is welcome!

CrossFit Islander's FOUNDATIONS 101 course

If you are new to CrossFit and haven’t been active or involved in a regular fitness program in a while, our Foundations 101 course is your best option. This is a 3-day course, consisting of a one-hour session per day. The Foundations 101 course is designed to get you participating in CrossFit classes with the knowledge and safety you’ll need to be successful. Be prepared for some physical activity as each Foundations class will include a warm-up, introduction of new skills, WOD (workout of the day) and a cool down. CrossFit movements offer universal scalability, so no matter what your level of fitness is, you’ll be able to participate safely, see results and experience success!

CrossFit Islander's TEST-OUT option

For those who have had exposure to CrossFit, or CrossFit-type workouts, we offer a test-out option. This test-out option is a one-hour session with a CrossFit coach to go over the foundational movements that are used in CrossFit classes. Those with an extensive athletic background and a high level of physical fitness may also be considered.

Note: Foundations class times are often not posted on our schedule. We now customize those times, depending on your availability. Please contact us to see how we can best accommodate you.

Discounts: We offer a 10% discount for police, fire, EMS, students, and seniors. Additional family members receive a 20% discount. Before using our online service, please check with James or Kim to ensure the discount is applied to your account.
